WORLDVIEWS

The National Museum - World Views

The National Museum is Denmark’s largest museum of cultural history. It is the museum for all of Denmark, where you can follow the history of Danes up to the present day. At the same time, it can take you around the world from Greenland to South America. The National Museum embraces and develops the conditions to allow everybody to get insight into the cultural history.

The Challenge

The National Museum wanted a new and different approach to tell the history of how the view of the world has developed through times. They envisioned a solution that could integrate playing with learning, so they contacted Serious Games Interactive to develop an online game.

The Solution

Serious Games Interactive developed a game that introduces young people to astronomy and informs them about the development of the world view, the central role of empirical studies in the process and the scientists, who challenged the conventions. In the game the player follows in the footsteps of some of the most influential scientists in history and their struggle against the prevailing ideologies. You have the chance to meet Tycho Brahe and Galilieo Gallilei and learn about their ideas and visions.

Target group: Students between 15-18 years
