World Bank Institute - Procurement Reforms Game

The World Bank Institute (WBI) is part of the World Bank Group. It is a global connector of knowledge, learning and innovation for poverty reduction. WBI connects practitioners, networks and institutions to help them find solutions to their development challenges. They work with and through global, regional and country-based institutions and practitioner networks and help them develop customized programs that respond to their needs. 

The Challenge

WBI was looking to accelerate the capacity building worldwide through new innovative solutions and looked to serious games. The game should be able to improve decision-makers' handling of the necessary reforms in relation to budgeting for pushing society towards a more prosperous future.

 

The Solution

The Procurement Reforms game is a strategic simulation game in which the player has to engage a variety of stakeholders to build the necessary foundation for getting reforms passed. During the game the player has to analyze different stakeholders, gather information, prioritize resources and decide what actions will further the necessary reforms.
